Our Traditional Mediumweight Kilt is tailored in Scotland to the highest standard. Our kilt makers are highly skilled and have years of exprience. They take great pride in their work.

We go that extra length to ensure our customers receive the quality and service they expect when ordering a made-to-measure garment. When you order a kilt from us we will look closely at the measurements you provide and contact you if we believe changes are necessary. We will proceed with tailoring only when we are confident the sizing match your profile. This way you can trust the kilt will fit when you receive it.

Typically, a traditional kilt is made from 8 yards (7.3 mtr) of the finest quality fabric. The amount of cloth used depends on your size.

Our kilts are:

  • Made to measure for a perfect fit
  • Tailored in Scotland by highly skilled and experienced kilt makers
  • Made using the best of fabric (13oz mediumweight)
  • Fitted with three buckles for better a better fit
  • Fitted with belt loops as standard
  • Available in a large selection of tartans

Traditional kilts are generally  "mediumweight" or "heavyweight" depending on the weight and thickness of the fabric used. The weight of the fabric is given in ounces (oz.) Mediumweight tartan fabric is 13-14 oz.

Mediumweight kilts are more comfortable to wear and in warmer climate.

Price for kilt only (without accessories). The pictures show a Johnstone Muted (MWS2157) tartan kilt worn with our charcoal tweed and lovat blue tweed jacket and waistcoat. Also shown is a Hebridean Heather (MWS1312/TI) tartan kilt worn with our charcoal tweed jacket and waistcoat combination.

Frage: Mein Kilt hat weiße Fäden hinten in den Falten, die teilweise lose sind. Was ist das?
Antwort: Bevor du deinen Kilt zum ersten Mal trägst, ist es wichtig, die Transportsicherungsnähte zu entfernen. Diese Nähte sind dafür da, den Kilt während des Transports in Form zu halten. Bitte gehe dabei besonders sorgfältig vor: Verwende eine Schere oder ein anderes geeignetes Schneidwerkzeug und achte darauf, den Stoff des Kilts nicht zu beschädigen. Ein vorsichtiges Aufschneiden der Nähte, ohne den Kilt zu berühren, ist der Schlüssel, um ihn in makellosem Zustand zu erhalten.
