The Deger Pipe II is an electronic bagpipe designed in a shape similar to that of a standard practice chanter. However, the Deger Pipe is much more than just an electronic practice chanter. It combines both Smallpipes and Great Highland Bagpipes in a single instrument. With the press of a button, you can switch between the Great Highland Bagpipe and Smallpipe mode.
The sound is highly realistic and is accompanied by pleasant-sounding drones. The “finger holes” are actually metal contact sensors on the Deger Pipe. The instrument can be played and fingered just like a traditional Great Highland Bagpipe or practice chanter. Additionally, the Deger Pipe is equipped with connections for MIDI and headphones.
Thanks to the included headphones, you can practise at times and in places where traditional playing wouldn't be possible (e.g. on the train during your commute). The volume is continuously adjustable, and the drone volume can also be controlled separately. A detachable mouthpiece is included and can be screwed in according to your preference. When the mouthpiece is attached, the Deger Pipe can be comfortably balanced and rested against the body for relaxed playing. If you’d like to play along with other instruments, you can connect the Deger Pipe to a standard guitar amplifier.
