Selbie Drone Reeds – Enhanced Version with New Bass Reed
The Selbie Drone Reeds offer the stability of synthetic reeds combined with the rich, full sound of traditional cane reeds. Thanks to the patented tongue system, the tongue can be easily removed and cleaned without the need for glue.
The 2023 version features an improved bass reed in a distinctive green color, providing a stronger and deeper bass. The hardness can be adjusted via the bridle (rubber), and a screw at the bottom allows fine-tuning of the pitch.
The reeds fit most pipes and can be thickened with hemp for a secure fit. Each reed is tested for pitch and strength before shipping and comes with instructions for fine-tuning to achieve perfect balance between chanter and drones.
