Experience the extraordinary sound of Hebridean Reeds, handcrafted Highland pipe chanter reeds, meticulously hand made by James Duncan Mackenzie on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. These ridge-cut Highland pipe chanter reeds, complete with a copper staple, are made in small batches from high-quality Spanish cane.
Each batch is designed to be versatile, compatible with a variety of pipe chanters, and undergoes rigorous testing in several different chanters by today's leading makers, primarily in a Shepherd MK 3 chanter. The reeds are particularly well suited to various models of Shepherd, G1, and McCallum chanters.
The reeds come in three strengths: easy, medium, and hard.
