Product information "Bagpipe Beginner Set. French. STANDARD"

Beginner Bagpipe Set – "French" Standard

This beginner set includes everything you need to start learning the bagpipes. It’s designed for both adults and older children, offering high-quality components that provide a strong foundation for your piping journey. We offer this set with the McCallum PC2 Practice Chanter (Standard Version), but if you're unsure which chanter is right for you, read below to help make an informed decision.

The set includes:

  • McCallum PC2 Practice Chanter (Standard Version):
The McCallum PC2 is a durable plastic practice chanter, ideal for beginners. Its standard size features hole spacing that’s slightly closer together than a full-sized pipe chanter, which makes it easier to grip and more beginner-friendly. It’s also perfect for table practice, where you can comfortably rest the chanter during finger placement exercises.
  • Plastic Chanter Reed:
This set includes a plastic reed, so you are ready to play right out of the box.
  • College of Piping Tutor Book (in French):
This comprehensive tutor book, written in French, offers clear step-by-step lessons to help you develop your piping skills. It also provides access to online video clips for each lesson, giving you visual support alongside the written instructions.

PC2 vs. PC4: Which one is right for you?

PC2 (Standard Version):
- Perfect for beginners due to its closer hole spacing, making it easier to handle and play.
- More convenient for table practice as it rests comfortably on a surface.
- Recommended for those who are just starting out or have smaller hands.

PC4 (Long Version, sold separately):
- Features hole spacing that matches a full-sized pipe chanter, allowing you to get used to the spacing more quickly.
- Easier to rest on the knee when sitting, providing a more natural feel similar to the bagpipe chanter.
- Ideal for those looking to transition more smoothly to the full pipe chanter.

If you're just starting and prefer a smaller, easier-to-grip chanter, the PC2 is an excellent choice. However, if you want to closely mimic the experience of a full pipe chanter, consider the PC4 (available in a separate set). Here you will find useful online video clips for each lesson in this tutor book:
