Product information "Bagpipe Beginner Set, College of Piping. English. STANDARD"

Beginner Bagpipe Set – College of Piping Standard

This beginner set includes everything you need to start learning to play the bagpipes. It is suitable for both adults and older children, offering high-quality components that provide a solid foundation for your piping journey. This set includes the McCallum PC2 Practice Chanter (Standard version), but if you're unsure which chanter is right for you, read on to understand the differences.

The set includes:

  • McCallum PC2 Practice Chanter (Standard size):
The McCallum PC2 is a durable practice chanter made of high-quality plastic, ideal for beginners. The standard size offers narrower hole spacing than a full-size pipe chanter, making it easier to grip and particularly beginner-friendly. It is also perfect for practicing on a table or while seated.
  • Practice Chanter Reed:
This set includes a plastic reed, so you can start playing immediately.
  • College of Piping Tutor Book (in English):
This comprehensive tutor book in English offers clear, step-by-step lessons to systematically develop your piping skills. It also includes links to online video clips for each lesson, providing visual support.

PC2 vs. PC4: Which one is right for you?

  • PC2 (Standard size):
    - Perfect for beginners due to its narrower hole spacing, making it easier to handle.
    - More comfortable for practicing on a table.
    - Recommended for those just starting out or with smaller hands.
  • PC4 (long version, available separately):
    - Offers hole spacing similar to a full-size pipe chanter, helping you adjust faster.
    - More comfortable to rest on the knee while seated, providing a more natural playing feel.
    - Ideal for those looking to transition smoothly to a full pipe chanter.

If you're just starting and prefer a smaller, easier-to-handle chanter, the PC2 is an excellent choice. However, if you want to more closely simulate the feel of a full pipe chanter, consider the PC4 (available in a separate set).

Here you will find useful online video clips for each lesson in this tutor book:
