The shoe is leather lined to allow the foot to breathe and includes a padded leather insole and top line for maximum comfort around the heel and ankle. The McCallum MK3 is pitched at approx. 482 Hz - 484 Hz and has standard round holes allowing for a very comfortable grip.Difference between the various McCallum Chanters:MK1 = round holes, pitched at approx. 476 Hz - 478 HzThe first generation McCallum bagpipe chanter with standard round holes for a comfortable grip. This chanter was succeeded by other McCallum chanters over the years. If you are not playing with a band that uses this particular model then we recommend you opt for one of the newer models.MK2 = slightly larger oval holes, pitched at approx. 476 Hz - 478 Hz The MK2 is McCallum´s second generation chanter and a very successful bagpipe chanter at that. Still the most popular pipe band chanter on the market today. The holes are slightly larger (oval shaped) than the MK1 and MK3 allowing for greater sound projection.
