BandSpec Next Generation WaterTrap
Advanced moisture control with fast drying performance and effortless maintenance.
Moisture is the enemy of steady tone and reliable reeds. The BandSpec Next Generation WaterTrap is designed to keep your instrument performing at its best, using oven-regenerable silica gel canisters that can be dried as complete units.
The system comes complete with two interchangeable canisters, allowing the player to alternate between them and always have a backup ready while the other regenerates.
Each canister is made from high temperature PLA and fitted with heat-resistant magnets, making it safe to place directly in the oven at 80–100°C. There’s no need to remove or handle the silica gel.
Engineered for free airflow, the WaterTrap introduces no noticeable blowing resistance, preserving the natural response of your instrument.
It provides balanced moisture control, reducing excess condensation reaching chanter and drone reeds while maintaining enough humidity to support cane chanter reeds.
An integrated reservoir captures initial moisture before air reaches the drying chamber, helping stabilise performance from the very start of your session.
Maintenance is simple: remove the canister for regeneration, or detach the housing with a quick quarter turn to empty the reservoir when needed.
