Castle Bagpipes Pipe Chanter Reeds
Castle Bagpipes pipe chanter reeds are made using extremely sharp precision tools, giving the reeds a pronounced ridge cut line.
Particular attention is given to the cutting process. Extremely sharp blades are used and the cutting always goes with the grain. The result is a vibrant and very stable reed.
Testing of the reeds by Castle Bagpipes is done using a Shepherd Classic MK3 chanter, but the reeds also work particularly well in the G1 chanter, D. Naill chanter and Peter Henderson chanter.
The reed blades are made using a folded copper staple to ensure a warmer, less brash top hand tonality.
